Officers were called at around 7 p.m. on Saturday night to the intersection of Richmond Highway and Bel Air Road in Woodbridge to investigate a reported hit-and-run crash after a driver sped through a red light and struck two other vehicles.
Investigators say that a 54-year-old woman driving a BMW X1 was heading north on Richmond Highway through the traffic light when she was struck by a Nissan Altima traveling through the intersection of Bel Air Road through a red light.
Both vehicles then struck a 2008 Toyota Yaris that was also in the intersection.
According to a spokesperson from the Prince William County Police Department, the occupants of the Nissan fled on foot before officers arrived, and the drivers of the Toyota and BMW were both hospitalized with minor injuries.
Further investigation found that the Nissan Altima and the license plates on the vehicle were previously reported stolen.
The only description of the suspects were two Black men, possibly minors, who were wearing white shirts.
It remains under investigation.
